Rosemary Greenlee's PledgePage

Dear Friends & Family,

It is with great excitement that Im sending this letter. I have an opportunity to use my passion for walking to help families with a member with autism. Ive joined with TeamAutism.org to participate in a fundraiser for the Oklahoma Family Center for Autism (OFCA-formerly Edmond Family Center for Autism). OFCA began in the city of Edmond and has recently expanded services to benefit families all over Oklahoma. I am going to walk in a 26.2 mile marathon in September of 2008, in Maui, HI. I need your support in order to accomplish this challenge.

Autism has increased within the last few years. One in 150 children is diagnosed with the disorder today. Autism is a very complex neurobiological disorder. Statistics reveal that families are often separated when a child with disabilities is part of the family. They are often isolated from others because their family member just does not fit into the activities.

Im going to walk this 26.2 mile marathon in honor of Matt Greenlee & the Mid-Del community. Matt is 27 years old, and has autistic characteristics. The Mid-Del community has contributed to Matts development into the fine young man who he is today. The fire departments, police, restaurants, retail businesses, neighbors, schools, doctors, health care folks, and many friends have helped Matt develop his communication skills, and social skills. It truly takes a village to raise a child.

My challenge is not only to walk the 26.2 miles in Maui, but also to raise a minimum of $5000 for Team Autism. Any support that you can provide to sponsor me in the walk and raise money for OFCA will be greatly appreciated. For more information concerning OFCA, TeamAutism.org, or to make a donation online, visit www.TeamAutism.org. If you prefer to write a check, checks may be written to TeamAutism, and mailed to Rosemary Greenlee, 4525 SE 24th, Del City, OK, 73115. Contributions are tax deductible. Thanks for helping me with developing a healthy lifestyle, and helping families who have a member with autism. And a BIG thank you for being a part of Matt's & my life.
